We met at the north end of Ridge Road to let some air out of the tires and hold our driver’s meeting.

We hit the trail expecting a rutted climb up the mountain based on past trail rides. We were a little disappointed to discover that the road had been graded and offered very little challenge. With the leaves off the trees we were able to enjoy the views of the valley below as we drove along the ridge. After a loop through the north part of the forest we stopped at the Big Flat ATV Parking Lot for lunch and a bathroom break.

After a chilly lunch stop we got back on the road for a different loop through the northern part of the forest that crossed our morning route in a few places. Since we were doing good on time we stopped at Buzzard’s Rock then a little while later Long Pine Run Reservoir to enjoy the views.

A short distance later we reached our air up spot at the Caledonia State Park Ranger station. After airing up we said our goodbyes and headed home. Overall it was a great day on some scenic easy roads.
