Fresh off a marathon build of a new 4Runner I set off into George Washington National Forest for a shakedown. Due to some last minute scheduling conflicts our group of 5 was whittled down to 2!
Attendees:
- Ben & Josiah – Toyota 4Runner
- Wade D. – 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison
We met at the start of Long Run Road, aired down, and headed into the forest! A few miles up to road we stopped at the scene of my accident in my last 4Runner to do some clean up.
A few more miles up Long Run Road we stopped at one of the many campsites along the road this one with a very impressive view that was even better at sunrise the next morning!
The next morning we continued on Long Run Road with a detour down Feedstone Mountain (72C). That road dead ends after a few miles with not much to see except pinstriping! There are a couple of campsites near the intersection with Long Run Road. We continued on Long Run Road to Ford Seybert and exited the forest onto pavement. We drove north to Camp Run Road which was gravel. This brought us back through the forest to our air up spot.
